Dick was a lifelong member of the AFM having joined in 1956 shortly before deploying to Germany in the U S Army. Dick played the bass in several local bands and played out west. He was comfortable in many genres, but looked best in a tux in the Cedar Rapids Orchestra or some jazz ensemble. He was an excellent musician and a jazz theorist; fun to listen to and play with. He served in several offices in the AFM. He was also an active member of the Sheetmetal Workers and the Boilermakers.Dick Kriz will be missed and fondly remembered.

He started his musical career in Norway (Iowa). Cornell College claims him as one of their own. His musical odyssey took him to the jazz clubs and Playboy Clubs of Chicago, both coasts, and the cruse ships. Eddie has always been his own man when it comes to music. Life long AFM member! He’s held several offices, including #137 President.

He’s actually a multi-instrumentalist, but he owns the piano and the American songbook. He is a pianist, singer, bandleader, recording artist, showman, and de facto music educator. He returned to east central Iowa to become synonymous with sophisticated song and dance.
